VH1 Networks has officially announced that the upcoming biopic about R&B trio TLC is in the works. The movie will launch a whole series of biopics that tell the story of careers of musicians and pop culture icons.
The television movie would cover the rise to fame of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes as TLC. The story covers from platinum-selling rise to the top of the charts to their financial bankruptcy to the loss of group member Left Eye. Chilli and T-Boz will serve as Executive Producers and consultants on the movie project.
Jeff Olde from VH1, in a statement says, “We’re honored to collaborate with Chilli and Tionne in sharing their own personal story and TLC’s record-breaking legacy with VH1 viewers.”
This is a movie that should be seen and and story that needs to be told. TLC is one of the most successful female groups in the history of the music business. And with the actual members from the group that were there behind the scenes, you know it will be authentic.
